Consumer Dispute Resolution

How We Handle Complaints

We take every complaint seriously and always try to resolve issues quickly, fairly, and directly. There are three ways to reach us:

1. Contact Us First

Before using any formal channel, we encourage you to contact us directly. Most issues are resolved immediately.

We aim to respond within 24 hours and resolve all issues within 5 business days.

2. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

In accordance with Lei nº 144/2015 of 8 September (which transposed EU Directive 2013/11/EU on consumer ADR), BlueWave SUP Tours informs consumers that, in the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved directly, you may use a recognised Alternative Dispute Resolution entity.

The competent ADR body for consumers in the Algarve region is:

CIMAAL is authorised under Lei nº 144/2015 and listed on the register maintained by the Direção-Geral do Consumidor.

3. EU Online Dispute Resolution Platform

The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform for consumers and businesses in the EU. This platform allows you to submit a dispute relating to online purchases to a recognised ADR body.

Available in all EU languages. Applicable for disputes arising from online contracts under EU Regulation 524/2013.

4. Official Complaint Book (Livro de Reclamações)

In compliance with Decreto-Lei nº 156/2005 (as amended by Lei nº 10/2013 and Decreto-Lei nº 74/2017), BlueWave SUP Tours provides access to the official Online Complaint Book. This is a legal requirement for all tourism operators in Portugal.

Complaints submitted via the Livro de Reclamações are monitored by the relevant regulatory authority.

5. Data Protection Complaints

If your complaint relates specifically to the handling of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the Portuguese national data protection authority:
